I thought it was time to put up another post of quotes, but instead of more of my favourite William Shakespeare quotes, I decided to put some of my favourite quotes on the love of reading. Because who doesn’t love books?
“The person, be it gentleman or lady, who has not pleasure in a good novel, must be intolerably stupid.” – Jane Austen, Northanger Abbey
“There are worse crimes than burning books. One of them is not reading them.” – Ray Bradbury
“He that loves a book will never want a faithful friend, a wholesome counselor, a cheerful companion, and effectual comforter.” – Issac Barrows
“To read is to fly: it is to soar to a point of vantage which gives a view over wide terrains of history, human variety, ideas, shared experience and the fruits of many inquiries.” – A C Grayling
This is the quote where I got the title of my blog from. Definitely one of my favourites ever!
“A good head and good heart are always a formidable combination. But when you add to that a literate tongue or pen, then you have something very special.” – Nelson Mandela
